Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, loses son The Governor of Nasarawa State, Engr Abdullahi Sule, has reportedly loss his son, Alhaji Hassan.  It was gathered that Hassan passed away at the early hours of Friday, January 27, 2023 after a brief illness. The Publisher of Eggonnews, Matthew Kuju, broke the news in a condolence message to the governor.

19 year old suspected burglar apprehended in Ogun, stolen items recovered The Ogun State-owned Security Outfit codenamed So-Safe Corps has arrested a 19-year-old man, identified as Abiodun Elegbede for breaking into a church and two other houses at Ago Araromi Community, Ilaro, Yewa South Local Government area of Ogun State.    The suspect was arrested following a distress call received by the Corps for prompt intervention.    In a statement released, So-Safe's Commander in Ogun state, Soji Ganzallo, said that the Corps at about 2am on Thursday, 26th January, 2023 received a distress call requesting a prompt intervention following the incident.    "The suspect who was alleged  of burglary at Ago Araromi Community, Ilaro,Yewa South Local Government Area was arrested after he burgled a Church and two different houses by the Ilaro Divisional Patrol Team led by the Divisional Officer SC Ojenride Wasiu. Bandits have abducted Kefas Ishaya, the Catechist of St. Monica Catholic Church, Ikulu-Pari, in Chawai Chiefdom, Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.   It was gathered that gunmen invaded the residence of the parish priest, Rev Fr Joseph Shekari, around 9:30 pm on Thursday, January 19, 2023.   They kidnapped the Catechist when they could not find Rev. Fr. Shekari, who had travelled out of the village.    It will be recalled bandits abducted Fr. One Dr. Ejike Ferdinand Orji has been sentenced to one year in prison by a Lagos High Court sitting at the Tafawa Balewa Square, for causing grievous harm, negligence and endangering the life of his 16-year-old patient. The Nation reported that Orji was sentenced on Friday, Jan 20, after being found guilty of four out of a six-count charge.  He was accused of applying Plaster of Paris (POP) cast on PW (Prosecution Witness) 10 (patient)’s’ leg on July 26, 2018, using non-medical staff and without carrying out an x-ray to identify the level of injury. The POP was fixed too tightly on the then sixteen-year-old Ezi-Ashi’s leg and it caused him grievous harm. When the victim complained of discomfort and asked that the POP be relaxed, the convict allegedly refused, which resulted in the teenager becoming unconscious and he was subsequently rushed to the Reddington Hospital, Victoria Island, Lagos, where he was operated upon. A Kenyan man, Stephen Karanja Njomo, has been detained for 21 days to assist police in the investigation into the mysterious d€ath of his friend, Victor Wangai Kiragu.    It was gathered that Njomo allegedly extorted money from the deceased's family residing overseas for about three weeks without their knowledge.    Njomo at the Makadara Law Courts in Nairobi on Monday, January 16, was ordered to remain in police custody until February 6, 2023.   According to the investigating officer, Police Constable Benjamin Wangila, the accused is now being investigated for the offence of m¥rdering the deceased, Victor Wangai Kiragu.   Wangila told Magistrate Mercy Thibaru that police believe Mr Njomo may have been involved in the murder of his friend Kiragu.   In a supporting affidavit, PC Wangila told the court that Kiragu was first reported as a missing person by his brother Samuel Chege at Kahawa West. Two Nigerian big boys arrested in India for allegedly h@cking into a bank network and ste@ling funds  The police in India has arrested two Nigerian men for allegedly phishing att@cks and br£aking into a cooperative bank network in Tamil Nadu state. The suspects identified as Augustine, 40, and Ekene Godwin, 30, also allegedly targeted a bank in Gujarat from which they swindled 10 lakh. In Tamil Nadu, they used a cyber tool called Key Logger and broke into the cooperative bank network, whereas in Gujarat they used a tool named Sweet-32, Times Of India reports. Usually, banks do not connect their core system to the internet so as to stay away from spyware and cyber-att@cks. In this particular case, Augustine sent phishing mail to the bank officials. Soon after they clicked on the link, the embedded software Key Logger and NG Rok got downloaded and entered into the system without alerting the bank officials on November 18.
